The Barn

A historic barn built of native Kansas limestone under a wood-shingle roof, now covered seating for the whole resort. Nobody builds like this anymore, and it gives Thunderbird a character all its own.

Barn seating

Out of the sun and out of the rain, with room for the family reunion.

Shelter seating

A stone-walled shelter adds another shaded place to gather.

For the kids

Little traditions

The moments people come back for

01

The 4th of July golf-cart parade

Decorated golf carts rolling through the loops is a Fourth of July tradition guests have enjoyed at Thunderbird. Call the office to ask what is planned this summer.

Carp gathering at the surface beside the marina dock to be fed
02

Feeding the carp at the marina

Toss a handful off the dock and watch the water boil. Small kids love it; so do the grown-ups.

03

Sunset from the Overlook

The Overlook is the resort's viewpoint over the water. Walk out after dinner and watch the evening settle over Milford Lake.
