The post next door
Fort Riley is the Army post between Junction City and Manhattan, home of the 1st Infantry Division, on about 101,733 acres. Main Post is about 7.3 miles from Thunderbird in a straight line. The gate you use and the drive time both change with the day. Call the post for access rules.
The resort itself is off post, on Corps lake property operated as a private marina and RV resort. A mailing address in Junction City does not make it a Fort Riley facility.
A practical stay
Guests coming from post usually want three things from the office before arrival: the site number, the resort map, and the gate code. The map on this website is the illustrated version of the park. Search the site number, then open that site’s page for the CampLife name to select.
Nightly RV booking closes online at 7 PM. If you are leaving post after that, call 785-238-5864 rather than assuming the checkout is still open. Seasonal sites are always by phone.
